The event was again\u00a0organised\u00a0in cooperation with the Slovenian Business Club (SBC), represented by\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Laura Bogataj<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and\u00a0Pravna\u00a0Panda,\u00a0represented by\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Miha Pili\u010d Turk<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Law Firm as a Business<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The event began with a roundtable discussion featuring\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Janja Zaplotnik, Eva Gosti\u0161a,\u00a0\u017dan\u00a0\u0160porn\u00a0Krajnc and \u017diga Urankar<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The speakers\u00a0highlighted, among other things,\u00a0that a law firm\u00a0operates\u00a0as a\u00a0business within a regulated environment. In addition to legal\u00a0work,\u00a0it\u00a0involves making business decisions\u2014from developing services and setting pricing to managing client relationships,\u00a0capacity\u00a0and risk.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A key focus\u00a0of the roundtable discussion\u00a0was business development, which in legal practice is built on trust, long-term\u00a0relationships\u00a0and referrals, rather than traditional sales approaches. It is a long-term process requiring consistency and significant effort without guaranteed outcomes. The speakers\u00a0emphasised\u00a0that even\u00a0junior lawyers can contribute early on by understanding client needs, being\u00a0responsive\u00a0and taking a proactive approach.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The discussion underscored the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset that goes beyond legal analysis and includes understanding the broader business context of clients. This enables lawyers to act not only as problem-solvers but also as trusted partners in business decision-making.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Simulating\u00a0Meeting\u00a0with a Demanding Client<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The students then took part in a practical workshop focused on\u00a0a holistic approach\u00a0to a complex business-legal scenario and the simulation of\u00a0meeting\u00a0with a demanding client. In addition to core legal skills, particular emphasis was placed on understanding the business context of the matter, managing client expectations, responding to time\u00a0pressure\u00a0and making well-reasoned decisions in uncertain circumstances. Through direct feedback from experienced lawyers, the students gained insight into the practical aspects of legal work that go well beyond pure legal analysis.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Connecting with Practice<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The event concluded with informal networking, where students continued discussions with our lawyers and gained further insight into the day-to-day work of a law firm.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">By continuing such initiatives, Jadek &amp;
