We are pleased to announce that effective from 1 January 2021 our colleagues Iris Pensa, Borut Leskovec and Domen Romih have been promoted to the position of partner in Odvetniška pisarna Jadek & Pensa d.o.o. Our colleague Nastja Merlak has been promoted to the position of Manging Associate.
Iris Pensa heads the labour law practice at Jadek & Pensa and also specialises in the fields of constitutional and human rights law. Apart from being an experienced litigator and advisor to both local and international clients, she also acts as mediator. At Jadek & Pensa she is responsible for acting in accordance with the ten principles of the UN Global Compact from the field of human rights, labour standards, environment, transparency, and anti-corruption, which she bears in mind in all her services and advice to clients. Iris is also the primary contact person for all possible matters, which with regard to the circumstances of an individual matter the firm would take up on a pro bono basis.
Borut Leskovec is an attorney with many years’ experience and a long list of references in the fields of business dispute resolution, in particular shareholder disputes and M&A related disputes, such as squeeze outs. Borut also heads Jadek & Pensa’s public procurement practice and is an established professional in the field of public procurement law and public procurement related disputes. He is focused on alternative dispute resolution and negotiations, and favors forward looking and value creating solutions to business related disputes.
Domen Romih is a recognized tax expert, and is heading Jadek & Pensa’s tax practice. Having joined Jadek & Pensa four years ago, he has built a successful and recognized tax advisory practice, including tax advisory, planning, and representation before tax authorities. Domen focuses on transactional taxes, and personal income tax. He is known broadly for his contributions to the daily Finance, and is regularly invited as a speaker at events focusing on Slovenian taxation matters.
Nastja Merlak is an attorney in the Transactions department with Jadek & Pensa. She is experienced in M&A and financial law, with a special focus on organization of legal due diligence processes, foreign direct investment, and financial regulation. Nastja joined Jadek & Pensa as a junior associate, and following an LL.M. at the prestigious LSE, as well as the Slovenian bar exam, returned to Jadek & Pensa as an attorney candidate, later becoming an attorney. Her promotion to Senior Associate is a testament to the quality of her work and her dedication, and paints a bright future for Nastja at Jadek & Pensa.
